Do you know, if the Tott-Soky family has any connection to the oldest Nordic noble and Royal family of Thott/ Tott? The oldest member with written references dates to year 296 AD! The oral saga histories go even further. Members of the originally Danish Scanian family lives in all Nordic countries and even Russia.
Quite a few of the Tott family members fought in the 30-year war in Central Europe, in the Swedish Royal army. Some of them quit the protestant side, and joined the Catholic side.
Hi,
Sorry but there is no link with this history from my knowledge.
Is a certain Jouvelin de Tott of France, around 1567 a member of the very same Tott of Hungary?
From what I know, there is no link between this person and our family because it has been ennobled in 1647 so one century before Jouvelin de Tott of France’s life.
Greetings,
My name is Mary Beebe born Toth. I live in the United States. I stumbled across you family information and I have found my great great grandfather listed. He is Paulus Toth. I would like to converse with you on other members of the Toth’s and the Tóth alias Sóky family and how the Kozoidek alias fits in.
I have some Beebe connections on related trees also! :o)))))
I want to thank you so much for posting this information because I am related to so many of these. I am on ancestry.com and so many of the family trees I am cousin to are related to these very surnames. I see several on here. My mother Irene is granddaughter of Elisabeth Toth and related to the Toth-Kelcz-Gabor-Horvath-Ladislaus families, from Budapest via Michael Toth. This is so helpful to me to see all of the connections. I am really so appreciative of this history list you’ve posted. On my ancestry connections, I am related to all of these surnames on the family trees. BLESS YOU & THANK YOU TONS FOR POSTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Juliana Kelcz and Michael Toth are my mother’s great-great-grandparents, she listened carefully at the dinner table and made sure we remembered the names. My mom always referred to Martha Toth as her grandmother and always told us that Michael was her father. She told us something about a glass and metal / silver factory.
Clarify The Above—that Martha was my mom’s great grandmother and her great-great grandparents were Juliana Kelcz and Michael Toth. My mom’s grandmother was Martha and grandfather Michael, their daughter Elizabeth / Elisabeth Toth was my my mom’s grandmother and my great grandmother.
Thank you so much! Well, my mom’s grandmother was definitely Elisabeth Toth and her dad was Michael Muskeriencz, who was the blacksmith’s son. Elisabeth was born approximately 1876 and passed away in approximately 1916 from what I know and her daughter is my grandmother, Veronica, born in 1906, but my grandma went by the name Mary. It is Elisabeth’s mom who I always heard my mom refer to as “Martha” and Martha was married to Michael Toth and I know my mom always said her great grandparents (which was probably great-great) were definitely Julia Kelcz and Mihaly Toth, and that I know for sure. I hope this makes more sense.
Rewrite and Clarify: Thank you so much! Well, my mom’s grandmother was definitely Elisabeth Toth and Elisabeth’s husband Michael Muskeriencz was my mom’s grandfather and he was the blacksmith’s son in Budpest, from what my mom knew. Elisabeth was born approximately 1876 and passed away in approximately 1916 and Elisabeth’s daughter is my grandmother, Veronica, born in 1906, but my grandma Veronica went by the name Mary. It is Elisabeth’s mom who I always heard my mom refer to as “Martha” and Martha was married to Michael Toth and I know my mom always said her great grandparents (which was probably great-great) were definitely Juliana Kelcz and Mihaly Toth, and that I know for sure. My mom always said she knew her one uncle was a judge in Budapest. I hope this makes more sense. There are some other family connections and I should also mention their names…. there is a cousin I made contact with and her grandmother went by the first name Sofi and Sofi was Devora (said to be a Toth) and Devora’s 2nd husband went by the name Ibverville (uncertain of the spelling).
I apologize, there is much information and honestly, I get excited when I make these contacts because my mother tried so hard to listen when she was a child and when I saw that name Juliana Kelcz I recognized that name from her stories and I know my mom always talked about how her grandfather was Michael “Mihaly” Toth and that he was a very intelligent man, so when I spotted those names, I became intrigued. Elisabeth’s mother and father, who I believe were named Martha and Michael Toth, were said to be very upset when she married and ran away from Budapest, it was always told to us that she broke both her parent’s hearts. And to clarify on the one cousin Devora Toth—-Devora’s daughter was Sofi. I do have some old photos, one it looks like was taken of a young woman and older lady with a little blonde boy wearing a tunic shirt and the little boy is standing on top of an ancient old rock that seems shaped / carved similar to the head of a bird, along with a few other photos.
I greatly apologize, there is much information to clarify and honestly, I get excited when I make these contacts because my mother tried so hard to listen when she was a child and when I saw that name Juliana Kelcz I recognized that name from her stories and I know my mom always talked about how her grandfather was Michael “Mihaly” Toth and that he was a very intelligent man, so when I spotted those names, I became intrigued. My mom always told us Juliana Kelcz and Mihaly Toth were definitely her great-grandparents (probably great-great). Elisabeth’s mother and father, who I believe (think) were named Martha and Michael Toth, were said to be very upset when she married and ran away from Budapest, it was always told to us that she broke both her parent’s hearts. And to clarify on the one cousin Devora Toth—-Devora’s daughter was Sofi. Other family names that are appearing on my tree are: Nagy, Szabo, Gabor, Janos, Starky, Staryak, Lazar, Green, Hliba, Benko, Kozubuenko. Rudov. My mom’s mother is Veronica “Mary” Toth-Muskeriencz and Veronica had approximately nine brothers and sisters and my mom’s biological father was Jozef Benko, who was also from Hungary.
I meant to clarify these dates also: My great-grandmother Elisabeth Toth, was born approximately 1873 and died approximately 1916 of a very sudden pancreatic illness, something wrong with her stomach. She and her husband had approximately 8 to 10 children before she became very ill and passed away. Elisabeth Toth was married to Michael Muskeriencz, who was the son of the local blacksmith and they ran away together.

Elisabeth’s mother and father, who I believe (I recall her saying “Martha”) were named Martha and Michael Toth, were said to be very upset when Elisabeth Toth ran away from Budapest with Michael Muskeriencz the blacksmith’s son, it was always told to us that she broke both her parent’s hearts. Elisabeth Toth and Michael Muskeriencz had approximately 9 or 10 children before Elisabeth became very ill with a stomach / pancreatic illness and passed away, leaving some of the children orphaned here in the United States—-Veronica Toth-Muskeriencz is one of those children, my grandmother and my mom’s biological father is Jozef Benko, although he and my grandmother were never married. Other family surnames that appear on my ancestry dna include other Kelcz are, Szabo, Nagy, Janos, Staryak, Muskeriencz, Benko, Kozubuenko, Green, Lazar, Hliba,
AKA / Annette: first, I apologize, but some of the info I have typed may be duplicating or it’s not showing. My great-grandmother Elisabeth Toth, was born in Budapest Hungary (Rhudt) in the year 1873 and she passed away in 1916 approximately. I have signed under two different e m ails.
